This mosaic was created during the summer of 2025 and was featured in the group show called Aerosol Euphoria that would turn out to be the last show to ever be held at B.W.A.C (Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition)
The neighboring building suffered a devastating fire and B.W.A.C had severe water and smoke damage. I did not expect to receive any of my work back. Then I got the call that my mosaic was not damaged. I found it to be shocking, like a phoenix rising above the ashes.
The mosaic is comprised of paint scraps that I call Deanite, chunks taken from my partners work space that I carve into to reveal a rainbow of colors. Think Fordite :)
The black outline is raw black tourmaline from the same Brazilian mining family that I buy from each year during my annual trip to Tucson. This work measures 12x12x1.5 inches and weighs just under 2 pounds.Signed on the back.
